A set of three slide decks from the recent Central Illinois Emergency Communications Summit are now available. The Summit was held March 25 in Springfield. The three decks cover the Summit introduction and overview, uses of Winlink in emergency communications, and an overview of Radiograms. The Summit Overview deck can be found here. An Auxiliary Communications (AUXCOMM) course will be held on February 25 - 26 at the Sauk Valley Community College in Dixon, IL. This course is designed for auxiliary communicators who volunteer to provide backup emergency communications support to "public safety" agencies. This course focuses on auxiliary communications interoperability, the relationship between the COML and AUXC volunteers, emergency operations center (EOC) etiquette, on-the-air etiquette, Federal Communications Commission (FCC) rules and regulations, auxiliary communications training and planning, and emergency communications deployment. Fall Commex Hotwash Files

Net Schedules:

The regular ARES® statewide net meets the first and third Sundays of each month on 3.905 Mhz LSB at 4:30pm local time. If necessary, the alternate frequency is 7.230 Mhz LSB.

The ARE ® Statewide Digital Net will take place immediately following the Sunday HF nets, using the talkgroups listed below.

The Digital Voice Net has moved to Wednesday evenings at 8:00 pm Central time. You can check in using the Illinois-Link Talk Group, #31171.

The Illinois Link Talk Group is connected to WIRES-X Room 21565, DMR Talkgroup 31171, NXDN 31171, P25 31171, YSF Reflector Illinois Link 83132 , and on D-STAR XLX, DCS, AND XRF 334G and AllStar 42810

In addition to the usual net, we will conduct an informal 40M and 60M band check beginning at 4:10PM. At 4:10PM, we will call for stations on 7230 kHz. At 4:20PM, we will move to 60M, and repeat the call. The start frequency is 5403.5 kHz. (channel 5). If that frequency is busy, move up one to channel 1. If 1 is busy, then 2, etc., in that order. Remember, maximum power on 60M is 100 Watts ERP.
