The ARRL Illinois Section, as a non-profit organization, advances all aspects of the art of wireless communications to the amateur community, promotes readiness to the public with support to served agencies with properly trained communicators, and encourages it’s members to be active participants in local social activities within their neighborhood and surrounding communities.

Purpose:

  1. To promote community wide understanding of the amateur radio communications service available to the public during times of emergency or natural disaster.
  2. To organize and train units capable of maintaining communications during emergencies as a public service.
  3. To promote interest and proficiency in amateur radio communications with respect to improving operating and technical skills.
  4. To conduct activities and programs to advance the general interest and welfare of amateur radio in our community.
